He Gives More Blessings Than We Can Hold
Month of September
For many of us, financial worries pop up with the arrival of a new bill, a new fee, or an unexpected event that causes financial burden. However, Jesus is a Good King and can bring provision even when there seems to be no resources.
"He (Jesus) said to Simon, "Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch."
Simon answered and said, "Master, we worked hard all night and caught nothing,
but I will do as You say and let down the nets." When they had done this,
they enclosed a great quantity of fish, and their nets began to break;
so they signaled to their partners in the other boat for them to come and help them.
And they came and filled both the boats so that they began to sink."
Luke 5:4-7
This verse shows the abundance of Jesus' kindness and provision. Simon and his crew had been needing to catch fish, and stayed up all night trying to catch anything but came up with nothing.
Knowing this, Jesus approached with a solution and was ready to bless them more than they could handle. Not only did he fill their boat with fish, but he overloaded the second boat to the point that both began to sink from the weight of His blessing! He is not a God who wants you to break your back slaving and hoping to get by to pay the next bill. Rather, He wants you and even those around you to be blessed to the point that you cannot contain His blessing. He is a Good King!

He is a Healer
Month of August
Let's talk about God our Father and Healer! Many of us grew up in churches that told us, "You never know if you'll die tomorrow", or "Maybe it's God's will for you to be sick" but this could not be further from the truth! Reviewing how Jesus responded to requests for healing in the Bible, we see the heart of our Father in the Book of Luke:
"As Jesus was approaching Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the road begging.
Now hearing a crowd going by, he began to inquire what this was.
They told him that Jesus of Nazareth was passing by.
And he called out saying "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!
Those who led the way were sternly telling him to be quiet;
but he kept crying out all the more. "Son of David, have mercy on me!"
And Jesus stopped and commanded he be brought to Him;
and when he came near, He questioned him.
"What do you want me to do for you?" And he said, "Lord, to regain my sight!"
And Jesus said to him, "Receive your sight, your faith has made you well."
Immediately he regained his sight and began following Him."
Luke 18:35-43
Imagine being blind just as he was. There is such a distance this man must have felt from the rest of the world. He was a blind beggar, meaning his whole livelihood was dependent on people's support so he can get by. There must have been days he went hungry, days he sat in the rain without shelter, and days of anxiety not knowing what lurked near him. In the middle of all this suffering and pain, word started to travel about Jesus the Healer and this man was ready to meet him.
Look back on the verse in Luke, however, and notice there were people who told this blind beggar to be quiet and not ask for healing. The world's normal response is to not ask for healing, but this IS NOT OUR JESUS. Jesus heard him, and told those same people to bring the blind man close to him for healing. Jesus loved this man, and showed it was His will to bring healing to someone who asks.
Doctors may say you cannot get better, friends may tell you to give up hope, but Jesus brings healing right to you. He healed incurable illnesses, because His protection and healing is greater than any weapon of the enemy. Never forget His love for you, and know you can receive His healing today!
"The Lord will sustain him upon his sickbed, in his illness You restore him to health" Psalm 41: 3

He Brings Stability
Month of July
Let's be honest friends! It is normal to feel moments of confusion, misdirection, and lack of clarity. While these moments of frustration occur with anyone, the enemy wants us to believe that we are alone with our worries and on shaky ground. However shaky we may feel, we have a GOOD God who pulls us out of our storms and in to His clarity & stability.
"He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay,
and He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm." Psalm 40:2
The beauty of this verse is it shows just how kind our Savior is! We are taught to fix our problems, wipe our brows, and carry on with our day and there is nothing wrong with hard work and motivation. But when we run into issues, we need to remember that God did not call us to live life alone. He is our Savior who not only redeemed us, but He is a kind companion who hears us when we ask for help.

Month of June
It is amazing how words of joy and life not only affect how you feel, but they can change your outlook on everything. Consider when you watch a show, watch a movie, or listen to a song that is uplifting and how it leaves you feeling energized.
Reflectively, watching a dark depressing show, dark horror movie, negative news, and even dark music makes you feel fearful and sad. In fact, you can even see it right there in the word ‘depressing’, how certain media and material is designed to push you down. Whereas uplifting shows, words, music, and of course the beautiful words of Jesus lift your eyes to be focused on His joy.
Now you may think,
“I know what you’re saying…read the Bible more…but sometimes it’s hard to remember.”
But that’s the best part about Jesus! He doesn’t just speak through the Bible but He also speaks to us throughout our day!
“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing,
the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.” John 6:63
“So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith,
and that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
may be able to comprehend with all the saints
what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge,
that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think,
according to the power that works within us.” Ephesians 3:17-19
Christ dwells in us, we are grounded in His love, and we are FILLED according to His word! Worries may come, stress may come, but the beauty of knowing Jesus is those worries are only temporary. God’s hope is constant in our lives. His words of life and joy take root in our hearts, and He leads us in joy and victory.
